Bible Teacher (Secondary)
Job Purpose
As a Bible Teacher at the International Christian School in Hong Kong, you will be joining a cohesive and committed team of Christian educators who seek Christ-centered academic rigor in our teaching and learning. Holding students to high standards, you will cultivate a positive learning environment that shapes our students in virtue and a biblical worldview.
The successful candidate will begin in late July 2025.
Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in the Bible department, according to the curriculum outlined in the departmental handbook.
Model a Christian character and lifestyle, and foster a classroom environment conducive to our students’ discipleship.
Play a full role in the spiritual formation programme, through evangelistic camps, co-curricular activities and service learning.
Maintain regular communication and trust with parents in a welcoming, engaging and collaborative manner.
Work effectively and efficiently with other faculty members in divisional and subject teams.
Promote the welfare of children and support ICS in safeguarding children through relevant policies and procedures.
What you will do:
We are looking for someone with:
Strong passion and commitment to Christian education, and the ability to integrate biblical principles into effective teaching practice.
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or any discipline with a PGCE/PGDE or equivalent awarded by an accredited university. A degree major in Bible, Christian Education, Divinity, Theology or related discipline with a strong academic background is required.
Ability to motivate and help students grow in their faith and realization of their worth in Christ in a Christ-centered community, maintaining a commitment to the ICS statement of faith.
A team player with a positive attitude and growth mindset, and the ability to interact well with faculty, students and parents in all aspects of school life.
